FUNERALS ~ MEMORIAL SERVICES ~ SCATTERING OF ASHES

by Robyn Wagner

As your Funeral Celebrant I have over 17 years of experience. I will prepare and conduct a funeral ceremony, tailored to suit your individual family’s requirements. We can work together to compose a personalised ceremony, using words and music that reflect the person who has passed on.

I have a Diploma in Ministry, Certificate IV in Funeral Services and Certificate in Grief Counselling. I will help you to design and choose an appropriate ceremony. I am committed to providing you and your family with the highest standard of service.

I will offer suggestions on different formats you can choose from, including a selection of poems and songs. We can work together to construct a meaningful ceremony, a celebration of the life of a loved one, to say farewell in a dignified and meaningful way. Family and friends are more than welcome to take part in the ceremony. Should the family want a religious tone to the ceremony, this of course can be incorporated.

When you have experienced a loss, it is never easy for those left behind. But when you lose someone so unexpectedly we all feel the shock. It may help to know how many people share your sorrow and stand with you in your time of need.

Robyns Journey

My heart is with you in your grief and sorrow

With over 17 years experience as a full time celebrant, including funerals, memorials and a variety of Celebration of Life services, I have had the privilege and honour to work with many families, from different backgrounds and cultures, to help them through the difficult time of farewelling their loved one.

I perform secular, non religious and religious services, have a Diploma in Ministry and embrace meeting people from all around the world.

I have performed a wide range of services, including for an unexpected or sudden death, of a child or an adult, terminally ill people including some brides and grooms days before their wedding, through to people who have experienced life into their 80’s or 90’s, even a few reaching 99 and 100.

I have personally experienced the loss of my daughter Claire, through a still birth, the loss of a nephew through suicide, where I performed his service to over 240 people, nursed my beautiful 59 year old mother for 2 years, through her terminal cancer journey, when I was 33 years old and 6 months pregnant with my daughter.

My husband and I have both gone through cancer twice in the past 10 years and beat the odds of survival. To read more about my cancer journey please visit my cancer website,  www.cupofhope.net.au.

I value my volunteer role at Gold Coast University Hospital, having completed my Diploma in Clinical and Pastoral Education as a Spiritual Carer, visiting patients and their families when they need support, a chat, a smile, warm embrace or just sit in silence with them and reflect and contemplate life.

I would love to hold your hand and walk with you on the journey of farewelling your loved one, capture the essence of who they were, honour their memory and celebrate the life they lived.

On Tuesday 17 October 2017 I performed a very emotional service for a beautiful little girl, Olive, who was born at 20 weeks with a serious heart defect.  We held her farewell service at the parent’s home, with family and close friends present.  The couple had photos of Olive around the room and a touching DVD slideshow was played along with some special songs the family had chosen.  I was so honoured and privileged to be part of this beautiful farewell for a precious little girl.

Hi Robyn, we just wanted to say a big thank you for yesterday.  Everyone said you were amazing and so lovely.  They said you made the service perfect.  Also thank you so much for our beautiful gift you left for us.  I adore the poem you chose and that is something we will treasure forever.  We were so lucky to have you be part of our service for our special little girl, Olive.  You are wonderful xx all our love always, Lena and Shanon xx  (parents)

Hi Robyn, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the beautiful service that you gave for our precious little Olive.  Our family will be forever grateful.  We will be recommending you to all of our family and friends and give you glowing reviews for your kind, caring, compassionate ways.  We feel that Olive sent you to us.  Love to you always xx Kris  (grandmother)

Dearest Robyn,
I just wanted to say with all my heart, thank you. You made the service for Mum so special for all of us.
We appreciate all the time and effort you put into writing the service and getting it perfect. We will treasure it forever! I cannot thank you enough for all your support and kind words. I couldn’t have done it without you. We are so happy you could share this special day with all of us.

Love Cass

Today I want to give a big shout out to Robyn Elizabeth Wagner– a wonderful and professional celebrant for just about every occasion. She is so warm hearted and transitions from a celebrant to a friend as she conducts ceremonies for weddings, baby naming, life achievements and funerals. It takes a special person to host your most important of days and I know Robyn would make your day extra special ?

I married a lovely couple in January 2016, on the beach at Kirra.  The groom was battling cancer.  We all kept praying for a miracle.  Sadly he passed away a few months after his wedding and I was honoured to be part of his memorial service where his ashes were scattered at the beach he loved to surf at.

Sunday 24 July 2016.

Today I attended my annual Funeral Celebrants professional training day in Brisbane and I had the pleasure to meet the lovely Camille from Cami Bears who personally hand makes beautiful soft cremation urns, created to bring comfort and hold your loved ones most treasured keepsakes. I highly recommend Camille who is passionate about her work. She is a beautiful person inside and out. I am blessed to know her and now have her as a dear friend.
